Joey's Story - From A Love of Writing to a Self-Taught Digital Marketer
Joey’s journey into SEO began because of his love for writing.
After graduating from the University of Puget Sound, he pursued a career to be a full-time writer. He found himself as a writer in a growing SEO agency, knowing nothing about SEO or digital marketing. During this process, he began self-teaching himself SEO, website development, and digital marketing best practices.
He read over 500 articles and watched over 200 hours worth of online tutorials, becoming obsessed with all-things digital marketing.
After growing with this other agency for 3 years, Joey discovered the agency didn’t treat their clients or team members very well. The game was sell, sell, sell, sell. Delivering great results was secondary.
He left and started SEO Growth Partners Digital Marketing in 2019.
- 2016: Graduated from the University of Puget Sound

- 2020: Got married to his wife, Emily
- 2021: Hired his first full-time employee

- 2023: Had his first child, Theo, who is his greatest joy.
